A number of online games feature warring factions, but there's never a single player who can exert complete dominance. That's not true in ArchLord, a Korean MMO that Codemasters has picked up for a release over here later in the year, which has players competing for the status of supreme ruler and suddenly able to influence the game world.
The game picks a different ruler every month, but the lucky player will gain "supreme global ArchLord powers," and while Codemasters doesn't specifically spell out what kind of influence the player has (yet), the promise of being able to rule the world must mean the ArchLord gets to do some pretty sweet stuff.

It owes a lot more to Space Channel 5 and Bust-A-Groove than it does to DDR, but this new Korean game is a BLAST.

Unlike Flash-Flash-Revolution, which is a DDR clone, Audition's gameplay is a bit different. You are presented with a sequence of arrows, and you must complete the sequence before the 4TH BEAT. Then, to complete the sequence, you press the SPACE BAR on the 4TH BEAT. The space bar is the only key that needs to be timed perfectly.

There are various gameplay modes, including "Choreography," which resembles a Jackson 5 performance, and even an Item Mall, where you can use the credits you've earned to purchase new clothes, dance moves, and even songs!

French-built web MMOG: Dofus claims to have over 250K players
The designers call Dofus a mixture between a video game and an interactive cartoon.
Dofus features a tactical turn-based combat engine, similar to that of TAO. During a fight, other players on the same map screen can choose to jump in to form a team, and players have just so many seconds to use up their 'movement' and 'action points' to move, attack, casts spells, and heal their enemies and allies.




Saga of Ryzom has announced an expansion, allowing players to create their own land and quests:

The Ryzom Ring is a set of tools for editing and sharing player-made “maps” that are customizable with terrain, monsters and NPCs all run by individual players. Maps can be integrated directly into The Saga of Ryzom world of Atys, where thousands of other players can experience one person’s handiwork, or kept as a private sanctuary only accessible to a select few. Maps can be made exclusive to player guilds or select friends while running their own invasions or events.

“Our hope for The Ryzom Ring is that it will bring back the power to the players,” said David Cohen Corval, CEO of Nevrax and creator of The Saga of Ryzom. “The Ryzom Ring will empower individuals to create their own adventures and lands and to share them. The only true limitations will be their own imaginations".

По моему то что сильно уменьшает правдободобность on-line миров, так это бездумные монстры и NPC которые стоят без дела на одном месте месяцами или это же время упорно ходят по кругу... первые кто заявил о NPC как настоящих личнстях наделенных недюжим исскуственным интеллектом стали разработчики SEED. Как объявлено основой этой MMPORG будут как раз социально-политические элементы, а не вырезание монстров.
